I had a long long journey to Brooklyn from my home in the UK..........train ride to the airport......first plane to Paris, then another to Boston, and an eight hour stopover.......I remember a fantastic electrical storm all around the airport in the middle of the night.....then in the morning early, I found out my connection to JFK was cancelled...........but was offered a shuttle flight to La Guardia........so I took that, and of course didn't realise just how far out that was from Brooklyn !.......anyway after an hour or so in a cab in the rush hour I finally turned up at the hotel. Problem now was, as I found out in Boston, my mobile phone didn't work in the States , even though I'd arranged for it to before I left the UK!.........So, with HLM being a bit late and me frantically ringing her from the hotel a couple of times, I finally heard that she was in the park by 9th Avenue station where I had been waiting.........I ran down the road to the park, and .........there she was........looking so beautiful.........after almost 18 months we could finally see each other........finally...........we moved close to each other and we kissed…….we had finally met…………
A transatlantic love affair.............

Let's tell them about NYC...
TB sort of surprised me and told me he was going to come visit me...
at the time, it seemed sooooo far off... I think you began planning in November maybe?
As his trip grew closer and we planned sights to see, and where to stay, our relationship continued to ...just get better and better.
The plan was for him to come June second.
I was so excited and nervous.
We'd picked a hotel in Manhattan...and with little more than a month before the trip,
the hotel cancelled on us... we had to scramble to find a new place.
We ended up finding a place in Brooklyn...little did we know it was nearly an hour by subway from Manhattan!
I was to take the train early that morning, and we'd meet near the hotel...
On the day I left, I was so excited...
The train ride took forever, and I knew that in the meantime he was in transit too.
Your turn honey. ;)
My gentle-man, and gentleman...
He was so kind... right from the start. Just a gentle-man and a gentleman.
The more we talked, the more we realized we had in common. Losses and beliefs and likes and hopes.
In the beginning, it seemed like a beautiful new friendship. Every day, saying hello and
talking about our day.
I'm not sure when I realized I was SO crazy about him, but it didn't take long, really.
I think I was the first to admit my feelings.
(was I darling?)
18 months TO THE DAY...after meeting, he asked me to marry him...though, we didn't realize that until later.
He's such a wonderful man.

So how did it all start, this big romance?
Well, late in 2009, "he loves me" (HLM) had started a giveaway group on Facebook, distributing Mousehunt (our favourite game) gifts to the needy !...........I thought this was really cool and joined in............we became "Facebook friends" on December 3rd 2009.
Gradually, we got to know each other better...purely through chatting on Facebook messages, until it came to the point where we were "talking" each and every day. Soon it became a case of really missing her, if, for whatever reason, we didn't talk on any given day, and I quickly realised I was falling in love..........
